Geocaching with Geosphere App Reviews

The new features like live caching are great. But the design is awful! This looks like a Win 95 app! What have you done? This is far away from any Apple design standards. I cant recommend this app at the moment.

With the iOS8.3 important filters like difficulty, terrain, fav points, cache size have stopped working. That renders the app somewhat useless. Sooo sad that THE most powerful and flexible app for Geocaching in the entire app store is not been developed anymore

The author is not updating the software, promises are just promises, but no new releases in sight, though lots of problems exist, even prior to iOS 8... Sorry, at this point, the best soft in the market is not worth a single penny/cent...

Nice easy interface and does every thing we need. A perfect replacement for our tired out Palm device. Loading cache database from GSAK proved to be simple using Yahoo Mail. Great app and easily worth the $7.99.

I had already bought another geocache app then read these reviews. So I put out the money for this software. Wishing I could have tried it before I bought. Searching for caches local to my proximity is unintuitive and combersome. Further, the program needs more interactive embedded features and less reliance on the browser. Im afraid this software is unpolished and not ready for primetime. I cant recommend it therefore. :(

I never tought this app was so impressive. I used it only once in the field and i could not imagine caching without it. I love it.

Ive been using this app for my paperless caching for about 6 months now and Ive enjoyed every moment of it. Specially for iPod users this is a good app since the discriptions and images are availabe offline. Ive got about 10.000 caches loaded on the ipod and I can search for the right one easily. Updating the database from the pocket queries that I keep ontje MacBook is a breeze. I just wish there was a mac companion app that was equally good. It is cheaper than the official app and way better if you ask me. Definitly worth the money!

I have been a long time user of igeocacher with its offline, paperless caching ability but found it annoying how you had to get gpx files onto the device. When I saw this app was able to grab files from email, I purchased it and put it right to use with a gmail account. Lately, though, it can no longer check my gmail inbox. It just spins its wheels and doesnt load new messages. As a result, I cannot load pocket queries. Gmail works fine in safari, so I suspect its a problem with this app. One nice thing to see would be the ability to use the iPhones embedded email so that I can actually check the mail account I prefer to use. Other than that, its easy to use and makes a fine offline paperless caching app.

I use this with the Itouch and since I started useing it my find counts have gone way up. My cacheing trips are usually a week long and I have everything I need right in this app. Highly recomend

the value of this app became apparent to me this past week when i loaded a pq into my Garmen 60csx but neglected to load the approprate maps of the city i was in. doh! but with the pqs installed with geosphere working offline - with the offine street maps available - i was able to muddle through and my caching days were not ruined. so glad i spent the extra $7.99. thank you geosphere!

If there was one app to get for Geocaching, this is it. Great integration with GSAK. It supports completely off-line use, which is a must have whenever caching outside an urban area or your home country and want to avoid those roaming charges. The developer is responsive to feedback from the community and offers great support. Definitely worth every penny.

Ive been geocaching for 3 1/2 years, using a combination of GSAK and Cachemate (PALM) for 3 years. Switching to iPhone, I chosed this app as a way to carry my offline database on the field. What a great choice it was! I can do exactly what I expected and even more. I basicly manage my caches databases on my computer with GSAK (as I always did) and then send GPX files to Geosphere via Dropbox wherever I have a WiFi connexion. Managing the data within the apps is easy and you get powerfull filtering and sorting capacities. The fieldnote feature makes it easy to log your finds. This apps worth every cents I paid for. If you want to go paperless without buying a paperless capable GPS, this is the app you need!

Awesome paperless application! I only use it now! The only improvement, would be filtering by attributes. It would be great to show available caches for winter during winter! Still 5 stars!!

Love the waypoint management, and the ability to connect to other programs such as Navigon. This app, when used with Pocket Queries is miles ahead of the official Geocaching app.

I have tried many geocaching applications on different platforms. This is my very favorite. The only problem that it does so much, I sometimes get lost in the menus. It takes a few outings to become aquainted with it each spring.

Paid $$ for this then has no results for around me... Closest was 900 miles away!!!! Boo

I love everything about this app. It seems to be so much stronger than the official caching software, particularly off-line with the IPod. The search capacities are great. The only thing that could be improved a bit is the offline help function since it does take a bit of getting used to. Watch the videos before starting out and its helpful, but who has the patience? So far any frustration has been not because the app couldnt do what I wanted it to, its because I didnt know how to make it do what I wanted. Very powerful.

This newest edition took a wee bit to get used to, but it is way better than the last version, which was already great. I often cache exclusively with this app and leave the Garmin at home. A small glitch in the map loading still needs fixing, but a very minor problem. Also, wish it could load Google Maps instead of Apple Maps.

Excellent app. I dont how I could geocache without it.
